Frequently Asked Questions
Why are Cassius BLOOMs unique?
Because they combine high-quality Japanese Takefu VG10 cobalt steel with Italian craftsmanship and selective double tempering heat treatment, guaranteeing a perfect balance between power, elasticity and elegance.
Are Cassius guitars suitable for beginners?
No, their technicality and precision require a sure and experienced hand, which makes them primarily suitable for experienced groomers.
Why a microserrated blade?
It helps to hold the hair during cutting, preventing slippage and ensuring a uniform result — particularly useful on fine or curly coats that tend to slip on smooth blades.
What types of coats are most suitable?
They are ideal for fine, curly coats—Poodles, Bichons, Bedlington Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, American Cocker Spaniels—where they provide a neat and even finish. They are not recommended for highly keratinized, dirty, or heavily matted coats.
What is Takefu VG10 cobalt steel and selective double tempering heat treatment?
Takefu VG10 is a premium Japanese steel enriched with cobalt, renowned for its hardness (HRC 62-63), elasticity, and edge retention. Selective double tempering refines the microstructure to simultaneously optimize hardness and toughness—a rare technology in grooming scissors.
What type of maintenance is recommended?
Clean after each use, lubricate regularly, professionally sharpen periodically and store in their case to preserve the edge.
