At Special One, we often talk about innovations and unique ingredients that you won't find anywhere else, but it's sometimes difficult to grasp them in detail, so we've decided to focus on one of the ingredient families that we've been using constantly for over ten years now: seaweed!
The most commonly used in the Expert and Aqua Line ranges are Spirulina of course, but also Chlorella, Laminaria and Fucus.
They were selected because they are naturally rich in amino acids, minerals, vitamins, polysaccharides (hydrating sugars) and polyphenols (natural antioxidants).
These numerous nutrients make them essential in the care of our "skin + hair" system, not only to nourish them, but also for the purpose of detoxification, mineralization, revitalization and strengthening of the structure.
The epidermis is sensitive to it, we already know this from our cosmetics for humans, but what is less known is that their action is also particularly beneficial for the cuticle of the hairs as well as for the keratin of the hair structure.
As a useful ingredient for both skin and coat, cosmetic actives derived from seaweed are recognized for these properties: detoxifying, they capture pollutants that accumulate.
They also promote revitalization by providing a host of essential vitamins, they prevent signs of aging and finally, they help maintain the suppleness and elasticity of the skin and hair.
They are useful for all skin and fur types: puppies, senior dogs, dry and damaged or perfectly healthy.
If I had to quickly list some Special One products containing seaweed, I would definitely mention the BIO ENERGY PLUS pre-bath mask, the BAIN PRO gentle shampoo, but also the 4 Aqualine shampoos: AQUAROSA, AQUABLU, AQUAROSA PRO, AQUABLU PRO… and finally, of course, the best seller, the HYDRATING CREAM.
